Books I Love!

If you're anything like me, sitting down with a book usually lasts about ten minutes before I start getting sleepy. That's why I love audiobooks. I've been listening to books on Audible for almost ten years, and it's become one of my favorite ways to learn. Whether I'm driving, walking Piper, cleaning the house, or cooking, I can listen and learn at the same time. Most of the books I listen to are about personal growth, nutrition, wellness, and living a healthier lifestyle, but I also enjoy a good story now and then. The books you'll find here are the ones that have stayed with me. Some I've listened to more than once, and others challenged the way I think or taught me something that made a real difference in my life. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.

Cook Books

Are you the kind of person who gets a new cookbook and immediately starts reading it cover to cover? Not because you're looking for one specific recipe, but because you genuinely enjoy learning from it? If that's you, you're my kind of person. I absolutely love cookbooks. I don't just flip through them looking for something to make for dinner. I read them like a novel. I want to know why the author chose certain ingredients, what I can learn about nutrition, and how I can make healthier meals for myself and the people I love.

Over the years, I've collected quite a few cookbooks. Before I moved, I finally had to let some of them go, but I can honestly say I read every single one cover to cover. Even if I only made a handful of the recipes, I always walked away having learned something new.

The books you'll find here are the ones that have stayed with me. Some have become my go-to favorites, and others have completely changed the way I think about food and nutrition. As I discover new ones, I'll keep adding them here because I love sharing the books that have inspired me, taught me something new, or simply made me excited to get into the kitchen.

Peace, Love & Fibre

I've been watching Mairlyn Smith for years from her days on Cityline (Canadian Show). She's funny, down to earth, and incredibly knowledgeable, especially when it comes to fibre and healthy eating. After learning that increasing my fibre intake could help support healthy cortisol levels, I was excited to get my hands on this book. I haven't had the chance to do a deep dive into it yet because life has been busy, but I've already made a few of the recipes and have really enjoyed them.

I've always appreciated Mairlyn's practical approach to nutrition. She makes healthy eating feel approachable instead of overwhelming, and her recipes are simple to follow without requiring a long list of ingredients. If you're looking for an easy way to learn more about fibre and add more of it to your meals, I think this is a great book. Honestly, I'd recommend just about any book Mairlyn Smith writes because she has a wonderful way of making nutrition both educational and enjoyable.

Business Personal Development

Big Money Energy

After following Ryan Serhant for years, I wanted to learn more about the person behind his success. Big Money Energy was the first of his books that I listened to, and it gave me a better understanding of his mindset, work ethic, and the way he approaches both business and life.

If you're new to Ryan Serhant, I think this is a great place to start. It gives you a good sense of who he is and what motivates him. I enjoyed listening to it, and it helped me understand why he's been so successful. If you end up liking this one, I'd definitely recommend following it with Sell It Like Serhant and Brand It Like Serhant, as they build on many of the ideas he introduces here.

The Blue Zones Kitchen: 100 Recipes to Live to 100

I'm always interested in learning more about nutrition and the habits that support a healthy lifestyle. The Blue Zones research has fascinated me for years because it looks at the places in the world where people consistently live longer, healthier lives. I wanted to learn not only about the recipes but also about the lifestyle choices that contribute to their longevity.

This book is much more than a cookbook. Along with delicious recipes, it helps you understand why the foods and daily habits of the Blue Zones are so beneficial. I like that it encourages a simple, balanced approach to eating rather than focusing on restrictive diets or quick fixes. If you're looking for inspiration to eat more whole foods and build healthier habits, I think this is a wonderful book to have in your kitchen.

Sell it like Serhant

Ryan Serhant has a way of teaching that keeps you engaged. He's funny, relatable, and shares what he's learned through real-life experience. I originally picked up this book because I was interested in learning from someone who has built an incredibly successful career, and I ended up taking away much more than just sales advice.

This isn't just a book about selling. It's about communication, confidence, building relationships, and showing up as your authentic self. Whether you're running a business, interviewing for a job, or simply trying to communicate your ideas more effectively, Ryan shares practical advice that can be applied in everyday life. I found it both motivating and full of useful takeaways.

I especially like that Ryan never comes across as someone who has all the answers. He shares his successes, but he's also open about his mistakes, and I think that's part of what makes his books so enjoyable to read or listen to.

Better Broths & Healing Tonics

As I've learned more about gut health, I wanted to understand how to make nourishing bone broths and healing tonics at home. This book does exactly that. It explains why these recipes are so beneficial, and it makes them easy enough that anyone can make them. It's become one of those books I know I'll keep reaching for.

This book is a game changer. I highly, highly recommend having it in your collection. I make bone broth regularly and freeze it in large ice cube trays so I always have some on hand whenever I need it. Piper gets it too, so it's become part of both of our routines.

If you're looking for a simple way to support your gut health with real food, this book is an incredible resource. I honestly think it's one of those books everyone interested in healthy living should have in their kitchen.

Brand it like Serhant

I've been following Ryan Serhant since his days on Million Dollar Listing New York, and I've always admired the way he thinks. He's incredibly smart, works hard, and isn't afraid to laugh at himself along the way. What I respect most is that he built his career from the ground up through hard work, determination, and a clear vision of what he wanted to create.

I picked up Brand It Like Serhant because I'm building my own brand, and I wanted to learn from someone who has done it successfully.

Even though Ryan's experience comes from the real estate world, the lessons in this book apply to so much more. It really made me think about the importance of building a personal brand and being intentional about how you present yourself to the world. Whether you're starting a business, creating content, or simply trying to build something meaningful, I think there are a lot of valuable lessons in this book. It definitely gave me a different perspective on what a brand really is.
