Welcome Back. I’m so glad you’re here!
Somewhere along the way, many women stop feeling like themselves.
Life gets busy. We spend years looking after everyone else. We're the caregiver, the wife, the mom, the grandmother, the one everyone depends on. Without even realizing it, we slowly move ourselves to the bottom of the list.
Then one day we look in the mirror and wonder what happened.
Our energy isn't what it used to be. We don't feel comfortable in our own bodies anymore, and the things that used to work simply don't seem to work now. After trying diet after diet and promising ourselves that we'll "start again on Monday," it's easy to begin believing that this is just what getting older feels like.
I don't believe that's true.
I believe women deserve support that fits real life, not another program that leaves them feeling guilty for not being perfect. I believe wellness should feel realistic, practical, and encouraging. Most of all, I believe that small, consistent changes can make a much bigger difference than trying to change everything at once.
That's why I created The Shift Series.
My goal is to help women over 50 better understand their bodies, build healthier habits one step at a time, and feel stronger, healthier, and more like themselves again. Not through perfection, but through progress.
If you're ready to stop starting over and begin building a healthier lifestyle that actually feels sustainable, you're in the right place.
Welcome.
I'm so glad you're here.
The SHIFT
Small realistic lifestyle shifts for women over 50 feel stronger, healthier and more like themselves again
If you've started noticing that your body feels different lately, you're not imagining it. So many women reach a point where they feel like the things that used to work just don't anymore. Your energy isn't what it once was, the weight is harder to lose, and the cravings seem to have a mind of their own.
It can be frustrating, especially when you're trying to do all the right things.
That's exactly why I created The Shift.
It's a simple guide designed to help women over 50 make small, realistic lifestyle changes that can add up to big improvements over time. There are no extreme diets, no complicated rules, and no expectation of perfection.
Just practical ideas that fit into real life and help you feel stronger, healthier, and more like yourself again.
It's simply a better place to begin
The 5-Day SHIFT
A more realistic way to reset after 50.
If you're tired of telling yourself, "I'll start again on Monday," you're not alone. So many women find themselves stuck in that cycle. They do well for a few days, life gets busy, something throws them off track, and suddenly they're right back where they started.
The 5-Day Shift was created to help you break that pattern.
This isn't another diet, detox, or extreme reset. It's simply five days of making small changes that are realistic, practical, and easy to build into everyday life. The goal isn't to be perfect. The goal is to help you create a few habits that you can continue long after the five days are over.
Over the next five days, you'll learn why cravings aren't just about willpower, why one unhealthy meal doesn't ruin your progress, and how small daily habits can make healthy living feel much more natural.
By the end of the week, I hope you'll realize something important.
You don't need to start over every Monday.
You just need a better way to move forward.
That's what The 5-Day Shift is all about.
The Rhythm SHIFT
Discover how meal timing can support energy, hunger, and healthy blood sugar.
Most of us spend a lot of time thinking about what we should eat, but very few of us ever think about when we eat. As I've continued learning about health after 50, I've realized that creating a consistent eating rhythm may be just as important as the food we're putting on our plates.
That's why I created The Rhythm Shift.
This guide is designed to help you understand why meal timing matters and how giving your body enough time between meals may help support steadier energy, healthier blood sugar, and fewer cravings throughout the day. It isn't about following another set of rules or feeling like you have to eat at exactly the same time every day. It's about understanding how your body works and finding a rhythm that fits your life.
Inside The Rhythm Shift, I'll walk you through the 4-4-12 Rhythm, explain why spacing your meals can make a difference, and show you how to build a routine that feels realistic and sustainable. Like everything in the Shift Series, the goal isn't perfection. It's helping you make small changes that become part of the way you live.
If you've ever felt like you're doing all the right things but still don't feel your best, this guide will give you another piece of the puzzle. Sometimes it isn't about changing what you're eating. Sometimes it's simply about creating a better rhythm for your body.
My Favourite Things
These are products I personally use and recommend. Every item on this page has earned its place through real life, whether that's in my kitchen, during my knee replacement recovery, while baking, or caring for Piper. Some links are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you choose to make a purchase, at no additional cost to you.
Recovery Essentials
Revix Reusable Ice Knee Wrap
This was one of the most useful purchases after my knee replacement. It stayed in place while icing, so I could move around instead of sitting still.
I still recommend this to anyone recovering from knee replacement surgery.
Mepiform Silicone Scar Sheets
Once my incision had fully healed, I started using Mepiform silicone scar sheets to help soften and improve the appearance of my scar. They are soft, comfortable to wear, and stay securely in place throughout the day. I found them easy to incorporate into my daily routine, and they've become an important part of my recovery.
Comfortable, easy to use and well worth adding to your recovery.
Healthy Living Essentials
Bone Broth
I use bone broth almost every day as an easy way to add extra protein to my routine. I often enjoy it on its own or mix it with my collagen when I want something quick and nourishing.
It's a simple way to increase your protein without having to prepare another meal, and it's become one of my everyday staples.
Glass Storage/Food Prep Containers
I switched to glass food storage containers because I don't use plastic in my house. They're durable, easy to clean, and perfect for storing leftovers, meal prep, and fresh ingredients without staining or holding odors.
I use them every day and wouldn't go back. If you're looking for a healthier, more organized way to store your food, I think they're well worth the investment.
Baja Gold Mineral Salt
I started using Baja Gold Mineral Salt because it's a simple way to add naturally occurring trace minerals back into my daily routine. I use it in my water and in my cooking as part of my healthy lifestyle.
If you're looking for a high-quality mineral salt, this has become one of my favorites and something I use every day.
Leg Elevation Pillow
I bought this after my knee replacement to keep my leg properly elevated while reducing swelling. It has been incredibly comfortable and has made icing much easier. I'm still using it every day and expect to continue using it throughout my recovery.
I wouldn't recover without it, and I highly recommend it to anyone having knee replacement surgery.
Lightweight Quilt
I never realized how heavy my duvet was until after my knee replacement. Even weeks into my recovery, it was too heavy to rest comfortably on my knee. I bought this lightweight quilt, and for the first time since surgery, I was able to sleep under the covers again.
Better sleep has made a real difference in my recovery, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a lightweight quilt to anyone recovering from knee replacement surgery.
Ninja Crispi
I use my Ninja Crispi almost every day because it's perfect for cooking smaller meals and reheating leftovers without turning on the oven. It's quick, easy to clean, and makes healthy cooking much more convenient.
If you cook for one or two people, I think it's well worth having. It's one of the most-used appliances in my kitchen.
Glass Mason Jars with Airtight Wooden Lids
I use these half-gallon glass jars to store my dry staples like flour, sugar, oats, and other pantry items that I buy in bulk. They keep everything fresh, make my pantry easy to organize, and I can quickly see when I'm running low.
I love having a pantry that's organized and functional, and these jars have become one of my favorite kitchen essentials. And also, they are so pretty
Kicking Horse Coffee
Kicking Horse has been my coffee of choice for years. I love that it's a Canadian company, their coffee is organic, and the flavour is consistently rich and smooth.
If you're a coffee lover looking for a great-tasting organic coffee, I think Kicking Horse is definitely worth trying. It's the only coffee you'll find in my kitchen.
Recumbent Exercise Bike
I couldn't use the recumbent bike at physiotherapy because I wasn't able to complete a full rotation. When I bought this one for home, I could adjust it to my comfort level and slowly build my range of motion. It became one of the biggest turning points in my recovery.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a recumbent bike to anyone recovering from knee replacement surgery. It made all the difference for me.
Dash Mini Waffle Maker
I bought this to make high-protein chaffles and healthier breakfasts, and it quickly became one of my favorite little kitchen gadgets. It's easy to use, easy to clean, and a fun way to change up everyday meals.
If you're trying to eat more protein without getting bored, I think you'll love this little waffle maker as much as I do.
SodaStream
I drink a lot of water every day, and my SodaStream has made it much easier to stay hydrated. I love having sparkling water whenever I want it without constantly buying and recycling bottles.
If you're trying to drink more water or cut back on pop, this has been one of the easiest healthy swaps I've made.
